Both routes use the same raffle software. The right one depends on your team, not your budget. Here’s the honest way to decide.
Four questions
Answer these and it usually settles itself.
1. Do you already run a WordPress site,
and have someone comfortable in it?
Yes → Build it
No → Done for you
2. Who runs the raffle next year? The same
person, or whoever the board elects?
Same person → Build it
Rotates → Done for you
3. When a supporter can’t check out the
night before the draw, who fixes it?
I can → Build it
Call someone → Done for you
4. Are you raffling wine, bourbon, cigars,
or firearms?
Yes → Done for you, for the payment setup
Mostly left column? You’ll be happy building it. Mostly right? Let us do it. A genuine mix? Call and we’ll talk it through, no pressure.
The thing nobody tells you
Most raffles don’t fail on the software. They fail when the person who ran it last year is gone this year, and the new volunteer is starting from scratch. Pick the route that survives that.
